It is in the relatively unexplored pockets of Asia, which allows only a limited number of discerning travelers in order to preserve its fragile environment and culture in its magical purity.
This country of rolling hills and towering crags certainly exudes charm. The tiny kingdom of Bhutan shares with Nepal the world's greatest concentration of mountains and living heritage of Buddhism. Flight to Paro can truly be described as a flight into fantasy. Day 1 : Paro - Thimphu
Arrive at Paro airport, report to the coach and proceed to Thimphu - the capital city of Bhutan.
Day 2 : Thimphu
Visit King's Memorial Chorten (Monument), Chang Gangkha - one of the oldest monastery in the valley, National Library that has collection of holy scripts and BBS Tower, Buddha Point where you can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley. Later visit Folk Heritage Museum, Traditional Paper Factory, Institute for Zorig Chusum (Handi crafts School) also known as the painting school, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Motithang mini zoo Where you can see the national animal of Bhutan Takin. Later visit Tango Monastery. Tango Monastery is a Buddhist college and residence of Desi Tenzin Rabgye, a young boy who is the reincarnation of the 16th-century monk who built Tango.
Day 3 : Thimphu - Wangdue - Punakha
Proceed to Punakha En- route Visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Later proceed to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, and visit Punakha Dzong, which is one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan.
Day 4 : Punakha - Phobjikha valley - Punakha
Visit Phobjikha valleys located at an altitude of 3000m. The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan.
Day 5 : Punakha - Paro
Proceed to Paro. Arrive in Paro. Free time for shopping.
Day 6 : Paro
Enjoy the city tour of Paro which includes Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined fortress from where the peak of Mount Chomolhari can be clearly seen. Later visit Ta-Dzong, Taktshang Monastery view point (Tiger's Nest). The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss, Later visit Paro Dzong.
Day 7 : Paro - Chele-la-Pass - Paro
Proceed to visit Chele -la pass (3800m) - One of the highest motor able passes in the country. It is also a sacred place to festoon the pass with prayer flags. The Chele la ridge offers gardens of Himalayan flowers, plants and of special pheasant species. Proceed to Paro. Arrive in Paro. Free time for shopping in the evening.
Day 8 : Departure from Paro
Board the flight for your hometown.
